Trigger Point therapy- Many people suffer from “knots” also known as “trigger points” in their muscles. These can be the primary area where a person's “stress” may go. Fortunately there is a treatment that can help alleviate this problem. When massage therapy and other conservative methods don’t give a person the long lasting relief they are looking for, trigger point injections are to help break up and release the inflammation and scar tissue associated with the “trigger point/knot”. By doing this it can help provide more permanent relief from the trigger points. Trigger point therapy most commonly utilizes Lidocaine or Marcaine (this helps numb the painful part of the knot) along with either a non steroidal anti inflammatory called Toradol or a natural anti-inflammatory herb called Sarapin. A “cold spray” is often used to help numb the patient's skin to make the trigger point therapy as comfortable as possible. With the advancements in technology and medicine there is finally a way to help people with trigger points to find relief. Our medical team will review your medical history and perform examination to determine if trigger point injections are right for you.

Allergy

Allergy Testing- Allergies are no fun. People who suffer from seasonal allergies or food allergies may not even be aware of what is causing their allergies. Simple things such as grass, pollen or even food can have different levels of allergy and make living life to the fullest a challenge. Allergy testing at Apex Physical Medicine is done either by a skin test or blood test. Once the test results are in, our medical team is able to offer allergy treatments to help a person build a tolerance toward the specific allergen allowing them to help experience life to the fullest without all the trouble having allergies cause. Our medical team will review your medical history to determine if an allergy test and treatments are right for you.

PRP Therapy- Platelet rich plasma also known as PRP is a very helpful and natural way to help many injuries heal. It starts with a simple blood draw, this is then taken to the centrifuge. This causes the blood to separate into the red blood cells and the plasma. Within the plasma is a layer referred to as the platelet rich plasma, which is extracted and used during PRP therapy. This is where our bodies have healing factors that can be used to help muscular injuries, shoulder problems, hip pain, knee pain and much more. Ultrasound guidance is commonly used to help deliver the most accurate level of care. PRP therapy is typically done in a series of 3-6 times depending on the injury being treated. Our medical team will review your medical history to determine if PRP therapy is right for you.
