The Benefits of Acupuncture

Most people want to try acupuncture, and wonder if it would help?

The answer is most likely. Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years and there is a reason it has lasted through the ages. People get results. Acupuncture works with our bodies to help reduce stress and allow for optimal function. For me personally, it has been an excellent tool to help reduce stress. I have a baby girl on the way and the world is a busy place! Acupuncture helps keep my head clear and shoulders relaxed. I’ve been able to sleep better and wake up more refreshed. I wonder why I hadn't started it sooner! I think it was because I was apprehensive about the “needles” etc. But the reality is that the skill of the acupuncturist makes a huge difference in not only how it feels but the results.

Acupuncture experience at Apex:

I did not even feel the acupuncture points she did, before I knew it I had half a dozen points done in my shoulders. The room is quiet and I entered into almost a hybrid of sleep/meditation. Andrea the lead acupuncturist at Apex puts on a relaxing sound machine in the room while I was able to finally relax. After about 5 minutes my body let my shoulders relax and loosen. It's funny that my body almost was clinging to the stress that it had become so accustomed to. After 10 minutes I dozed off, I woke myself up snoring as Andrea came to check on me. Before I knew it I was done! I walked out feeling relaxed and refreshed and I cannot wait for my next session. If you are wondering if acupuncture will help with something, the best way to find out is to try. It most likely will help.

The most common things worked on are neck pain and stiffness, back pain, muscle spasms, headaches, migraine, shoulder pain and stress.  The session takes about a half hour, it is fast and convenient and effective.
