How to Manage Stress During the Holiday Season

Having a stress free holiday season makes everyone merrier, home life better, and a happier world all around. You may not be able to avoid the things causing stress, but best way to manage it is to realize that you are in control of how your body reacts to stress. Four easy things to keep in mind to help manage stress are:

 1. Attitude

Instead of focusing on things we cannot change, focus on the things that you can control. Choosing to have a positive attitude and outlook regardless of other factors can set the tone for the day.

2. Posture

Our posture has a direct impact on how our bodies handle stress. If you stand with tall open posture this will neurologically reduce how stress affects you.

3. Exercise

It’s is a great way to relieve stress. Exercise has numerous benefits for stress management. Get out and move! Do something that you enjoy whether that be lifting weights, golf, running or yoga.

The 4th tip is getting adjusted by your chiropractor. Stress tends to find its way into our neck, back, shoulders and hips. Stress negatively affects our day to day, sleep and even the time we spend with our loved ones. Getting an adjustment has an immediate positive effect on stress. Most people immediately “feel better” after getting adjusted. A great way to compliment an Apex adjustment is to follow it up with massage therapy. Melt away the stress and have a wonderful holiday season!
